Why Govt. of India is trying to lure Kashmiri youth towards jobs and training them outside the state

I was recently at a recruitment drive done by Rooman technology under project udaan at SP college Srinagar, there were atleast 200 candidates who had registered for the recruitment drive and after the required  written and interview more than 150 candidates got selected and the HR guy provided on spot offer letters to these aspiring candidates. I was one of the candidates who had got selected, after clearing the interview they told me to submit the original documents and take away the concerned offer letter, but I was reluctant to give them the original docs as already I had some other jobs in pipe line, so I told them I will first discuss with my parents then I will tell about my possibility to join your organization. After that day they phone called me regularly and they were literarily begging to join the job enhanced training program.
I was really suspicious and tried to find out why are they so curious about losing a candidate, so a close associate who is supposed to work with them told me that these companies are receiving hefty sums from government of india to lure Kashmiri youth towards providing them training and employment. These companies are receiving at least 5 lack Rs to train a single candidate.
Government of India are set to recruit 12,000 candidates from J&K in order to provide them training and jobs, so that means they are spending 12,000 *500,000= 6000000000rs. Not only that but they are spending another 6000000000 Rs in providing admissions to students after 10+2 in various professional college free of cost. Moreover they have sanctioned another 1200 corers for developing sports stadiums in every district of Kashmir.
If we introspect what does government of india get from pumping such a large amount of money on Kashmiri youth. Simply they get a Kashmir with no demanding youth, youth who were protesting in 2008-10 with a stone in a hand and who were shouting slogans are no more on the streets. The hands of stone palters are now writhing codes for some corporates far away from their homes. May be this strategy is another form of psychological warfare against ongoing movement for freedom struggle.

Does our degree determine our destiny?

Does our degree determine our destiny?

The famous dialogue of 3idots “agar tum ne engineering ki hai toh bank mae job ku karte  ho” I not only think but I believe that it is not only contradictory but misleading as well. Let me fist explain what I have understood by studying engineering for four years, Engineering is basically the practical implementation of science and technology in industry, commerce and in everyday life etc, however we can apply our engineering skills into our social life too and this branch of engineering is called social engineering, what actually the social engineering means is to improve your way of talking, thinking, enhance your dressing sense and grooming yourself to the fullest and most importantly it is all about how do you present yourself in front of others so as to please them and there is a huge scope of social engineering into our social life fortunately there is no need of a degree or a diploma to be a good social engineering, to learn social engineering all you need is to think and think positively and differently and in the contemporary society your social engineering skills is the fact which determines your tendency of how much success you will get in a business or in a job. Let us come back to the main topic in short it is not necessarily imperative to pick up a job in engineering if you have study engineering, it is even better if you create or devise something new in any field, the need of the hour is entrepreneurship means to start a business and provide jobs to others and obviously to yourself. There are some great people from whom we can get motivated and inspire ourselves and start thinking differently, if we see the work of de-Broglie  he has solved the then mind rendering and mysterious puzzle of dual nature of light in physics however he has done MA in History and there are many other great scientist and engineers who have done tremendous work in science and technology but they never have graduated  from any engineering college the famous examples of such personalities are Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple) and Bill Gates(founder of Microsoft) and they are providing jobs to millions of engineers from top most colleges and universities  what actually they have done is that they have thought differently and creatively.  However there are some people who actually being a graduate in engineering have done excellent work in art, sports (VVS Lakashman, Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid), Acting, Literature (Chaten Bagat writer of 5point someone and five other novels Graduated from IIT delhi) etc. so whatever graduate you are it is not mandatory for you to stick to the same field of disinterest but life is all about chances so take some chances in your field of interest but remember one thing what you have do is to think and to think differently. Spatially people living in Indian subcontinent have tremendous potential but there potential is not properly used in India rather all the Big Doctors and Engineers from AIMS and IITS are drained to western countries which is killing such a developing nation. So no matter what you have studied and what job you are in you have to bring innovation and engineering into your thinking.

A Dream of Making Kashmir an Utopian Place.

A Dream of Making Kashmir an Utopian Place.

A countries economy is dependent upon the total output which it produces and exports which it has in its bag, exports can be of diversified fields like exports of Agricultural products, Horticultural products, machinery, Medicine, Automobile or software products and many more.
If we analyze Kashmiris economy it is mostly dependent on Horticulture (Apples & Dry fruits), Saffron, Agriculture, Handicrafts, fisheries and tourism. However we have some other resources like water resource and Educational sector.
The water resource of Kashmir is like Adams Apple, because it has immense revenue generating potential, but we can’t use it as it is forbidden for use in Kashmir, Indus water treaty was signed between India & Pakistan, which gives a legal right to Pakistan to use and claim it as its property, means Kashmir water has been sold out to Pakistan, creating a feeling of alienation amongst Kashmiri people.
Kashmir has 20000 MW hydro power generating capability, however out of which only 1000 MW is generated, out of which less than 500 MW are given to J&k as a royalty, which is a beggars shear, Kashmir is facing acute power deficit, so as to minimize the gap between demand & supply, J&K govt. has to purchase additional 1400 MW from center.
Since hydro power has the least cost per unit generation of electricity, cheap power is one of the most important factor to attract factories and industries, which has a potential to become the back bone of economy, if the govt. was able to generate the hydro power to its fullest, Kashmir would have seen a golden phase for the development of industries and factories.
Tourism industry is one of the most important revenue generating industry for Kashmir, but due to ineffective administration and lack of proper facilities and equipment, Kashmir unable to attract foreign tourists. There are many other reasons besides lack of proper marketing and advertisement of the scenic beauties of Kashmir throughout the world is one of the main reasons for ineffective tourism. Also the negative advertisement by Bollywood is hurting tourism industry, by negative advertisement I mean to say, film industry have been coming here since decades, but recently what I have noticed, they will pictures songs and films in Kashmir, in the film they will show it is as Himachal Pardesh, which is quite ironic.
Besides tourism, horticulture, hydropower and industries, Kashmir has an immense potential for educational sector. What we lack here is the infrastructure for educational institutes, if we had been able to develop quality universities both technical & non-technical, we would have been able to boost our economy, by attracting students from outside the state, as it is evident everyone would love to study in a college located in beautiful adobe of Kashmir. But it is actually other way round; most of the Kashmiri students go to other states for higher education. Kashmiri students have to pay donation and fees in lakhs to the abroad university, which further leaves our economy handicapped and crippled.
IT-Industry is the future of economy, countries like India, china, USA has a substantial chunk of their GDP dependent on IT-Industry. Kashmir was and is a best destination for the development of IT-industry, because IT-industry needs cold temperature and cheap power, Kashmir has a natural potential for both. Man power and young brain is also a requirement for the survival if IT-Industry, but Quality University would have bridged that gap.
Unfortunately this article has been a hypothetical one, was a dream of making Kashmir a utopian and idealistic place. No doubt we are very far from reaching such a phase, but in this world nothing is impossible if we strive for our dreams with honesty and integrity, no one would be able to stop or hinder us in reaching our targets.
